A long weekend well spent in west Izu

If you have not been to West Izu, you need to, here is your 2 day trip planned out:

Day One/ Two

Drive off from Tokyo to Numazu, then take the coastal road 17 towards Heda. It is a really nice drive.

The Old Bus

Bus Bar A campervan is the only way to really experience this bar, as its in the middle of nowhere, on the coastal road between Numazu and Heda, You can park and sleep nearby and it has an amazing view of Mt Fuji. Overnight parking near the old bus can be organised via the Car Stay website

Heda town

Heda Hidden gem of a town, that has the best beach near Tokyo, awesome seafood and a great cafe.


Heda Beach

Mihama Beach Super clear water, secluded and with arguably the best view of Mount Fuji in Japan


Sleep spot: Roadside Station

Sleep spot night 1: The road station center of Heda, it has a nice hot spring and foot spa which closes at 8pm

Best Lunch spot: Kaniya Heda  Seafood, massive portions and top notch Freshness

Best Coffee: Tagure Hostel Great coffee, good people and rental fishing gear or cycles (sleep spot for those who arent in a camper)
